Simulation

Of course we can take this all the way and embed our experience in a completely simulated environment. This final example involves a simple physics simulator which models a central gravitational force field. The trajectory of the spaceship emerges out of the interaction of the gravitational field and the "thrusts" the player provides through a game controller. The solar system provides a landscape for play but also as a repository of astronomical knowledge. All of the planets in this simulation are in proper ratio to each other with regards to size, distance from the sun, rotational period around the sun and daily rotation around their own axis.
